Welcome! Thank you for embarking on the journey of learning to sing! It is a rewarding skill to develop, and a lot of fun, but it takes work and dedication. The policies below will ensure that we make the most of our time together, so you can be successful and have a great time. Please read and place your initials under each section.

Practice Policy: Practicing is the cornerstone of becoming proficient in any new skill. I require a minimum of 5 days per week of practice time to participate in voice lessons. • In your voice journal you will be expected to record any questions/discoveries that occur during your daily practice sessions that week.

Recitals: Studio Recitals are held in December and May. • Students are required to participate.

Payment Policy: Tuition for Private Voice Lessons is due in full at the FIRST LESSON of the month. • Acceptable payment form is cash or check payable to “Katelynd Blake.” If you are paying with cash please place it in an envelope with the students name written on it. • Monthly Tuition is $120 for weekly 30 minute lessons. Monthly Tuition is $175 for 45 minute lessons. • It is your responsibly to remember to pay tuition on time. No reminder notification will be given. • If payment is not received at the first lesson of the month you will receive an emailed statement that will notify you that payment was not received and a late fee charge of $10 will be added to your balance owed for the month. • If there are continual issues with payment you will be asked to leave the studio.

Attendance Policy: There are no refunds given for missed lessons. • Please let me know about any upcoming conflicts. If proper notice is given, it may be possible for you to switch lesson times with another student for that week. • If I need to cancel a lesson, I will either reschedule or credit you for the next month. • If you arrive late to your lesson, that time may or may not be made up, according to my discretion. • During the school year we follow the Public School Calendar. If there is no school, there will not be a lesson that day either. • A 30-day notice is required for withdrawing from lessons. Students will be charged for all lessons scheduled in that 30-day period, even if they choose not to attend.

Monthly Make-up Lesson: There will be one scheduled make-up lesson per month. If you missed a lesson during the previous month you are invited to attend this make-up lesson. • If one to two students attend, it will be 30 minutes in length. If three or more students attend, it will be 1 hour. • Topics discussed may include vocal pedagogy, ear training, theory, or a master class setting vocal workshop.

Bounced Check Policy: You will be responsible for the bank fee charges in the event of a check bouncing. • No post-dated checks.

Accompanist Fee: Students will need to pay an accompanist fee for practice sessions leading up to the Recital, for the Recital, and any other performances or activities. • Students are required to use the designated accompanist that I arrange for the recital.

Additional Costs: Students are expected to purchase their own music books as I recommend.

Release of Liability Agreement: Please note that this is an agreement to hold Blake Music Studios blameless for any accident or injury is a requirement for enrollment. Physical activities such as singing, performing, choreography movement, and drama carry a risk of injury to participants. I hereby release Blake Music Studios of any liability whatsoever arising out of an injury, damage, or loss which may be sustained by said person during the course of involvement with any and all Blake Music Studios activities. This includes activities held in the studio, studio grounds, in theaters during performances or rehearsals, and during any activity sponsored, arranged or facilitated by Blake Music Studios. I, the undersigned, hereby authorize Blake Music Studios without restrictions of any kind, to use the students photographic image, or voice, singly or in combination, in a video, photographic image, digital image, or series of such productions for use by Blake Music Studios. I agree that no monetary compensation is implied in or expected from this release. I have read and understood this waiver, and accept and assume such risks.
