Hi, I’m Katelynd Blake. Music has always been an integral part of my life. As a child I was given an amazing gift by my parents - music lessons! I began studying the piano at age 8 and as for voice, I’ve always been singing, but I began my formal training around 12 years of age.

I graduated from Brigham Young University - Idaho with a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance. Upon graduation I was employed by BYU-Idaho as an Adjunct Music Professor teaching Private Voice Lessons, Group Voice Lessons, and Basic Musicianship (Music Theory and Ear Training). I have performed as leads, supporting roles, and as a soloist in numerous Musical Production, Operas, Opera Scenes, and Oratorios. I currently study voice with renowned Mezzo-Soprano, Dr. Carla Rae Cook.

I love teaching music! Guiding my students through their musical journey and seeing their joy as they improve, discover, and excel with their instrument is one of my greatest joys. I have taught children as young as 4 years old, to teenagers and college students, up to adults in their 70's. Many of my students have performed as leads in Community and High School Theatre productions, have auditioned and joined the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, have been selected as Sterling Scholars in Voice and Musical Theatre, and have competed in Solo and Ensemble at the State Level.

With all of my musical experience, I have never seen a more amazing curriculum for teaching music to children than Let’s Play Music. I am beyond thrilled to be teaching the Presto course by Let’s Play Music. It is a phenomenal program!

I look forward to guiding you through YOUR musical journey towards being an accomplished and competent musician!
